This month, we spent brainstorming ideas for a project. We came up with three main ideas:
(1) An app that lets users know what items are recyclable at different dining locations around campus
(2) An app that hosts sustainability challenges for students to complete around campus and gives them real rewards such as coupons for reaching achievements
(3) Adding a Sustainability at CMU module on the First Year Orientation App
After asking the rest of the club which idea interested them the most, we decided to build an app that hosts sustainability challenges. We are currently researching an already existing sustainability competition app named joulebug. We plan to use its functionality as our template and make modifications to customize it for CMU.
